The first step in laying vinyl tile is to find a design and purchase it. It is fairly easy to calculate how many you will need. For 12 inch tiles, just multiply the length by the width of your room and that’s the number of tiles needed. Make sure to add 5% extra for cutting and waste.

It is a little more difficult to figure up nine inch tiles. Divide the room’s length (in inches) by 9, and then divide the room’s width (in inches) by 9. Then take those two numbers and multiply them together to get the number of tiles needed. Again, add 5% extra. 

Once you have bought your tile it is time to prep the floor.
